So what happened this week? Hmm...
Monday, Gracie had field day. I was unable to make it of course b/c Monday is my crazy busy day at work after coming off of the weekend.
Tuesday was pretty uneventful, (if I'm remembering correctly!) Oh wait! David and Gracie went on an incredibly long bike ride with some of the kids in the neighborhood. Sounds fun huh! Up until the point where David's bike chain broke and he had to walk his bike all the way back!
Wednesday of course was Cinco de Mayo so we celebrated with Salsarita's which is almost as good as Chipolte, but not quite! David and I of course had to celebrate with a margarita, being that we are from Texas and all. By the way, speaking of Texas, I think I need to get a Texas flag to hang outside of our house! Texans are proud, are we not?!
Thursday...hmmm, there was something Thursday... what was it? Oh! David had a night jump, it was a really "serious" one where they had to land silent and walk off "tactical." Meaning he had to actually "play Army!" I waited patiently for a text message that he landed safe, and then fell asleep! He got home really late, like 3am. but he had a great story to tell about one of his buddies screaming like a little girl in the middle of the "tactical mission" (where he was supposed to be silent) b/c he thought there was a snake in his parachute!
Friday Anastyn had a parent/teacher conference to go over her progress over the last year. She of course is the youngest in her class. She is allowed to be in the pre-k class this year due to her hearing impairment. She is doing well, and is right on target. We took all of the teachers gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week. I found the cutest little chalk boards trimmed in fun bright colors, and shaped like bird houses and flower pots at Hobby Lobby.
Friday night we had "Fiesta Friday"- homemade enchiladas and game night. David made phenomenal margaritas and we had an exceptionally grand time with the Tric's and the Hermann's! Farkle, Uno, and then a little bit of Rock Band. We stayed up WAY too late and had a blast!
David, Alex and Jared playing Rock Band!
Fiesta Friday turned into a very sleepy Saturday! And I loved it :) David and the girls left me at home and went shopping. When they got home David had trained them to yell "NOT TELLING!" to everything I asked! Oh but he forgot to cover the bribery angle. I almost got it out of Anastyn by offering her a brownie!
I woke up this morning to breakfast AND Starbucks in bed. Flowers, cards, Perry and a Fossil gift card for a new watch. The kids cleaned their rooms, David cleaned the rest of the house, and even washed some laundry! Laundry would have been gift enough for me!! I have to admit that I have some pretty great kids and an awesome Hub! I am now watching Army Wives, my Mother's Day is perfect.
Tomorrow is our anniversary. 7 years. So many couples now days don't even make it that far! And I am still madly in love with my husband! I'm so thankful to be able to say that. God has been so good to my family!
So sweet! I love reading your blog...thanks so much for keeping us informed! Love you lots!
